Malta map (Atlas)

Malta, Gozo and Comino lie at the heart of the Mediterranean, blessed with near year-round sun, crystal clear sea, stunning scenery and a rich history that has seen many of the glorious civilisations stamp their identity on these small islands. Malta map is approximately 17 miles long, and 9 miles wide, while the island of Gozo is roughly 9 miles by 5, but while Malta has a population of 345,000 the corresponding figure for Gozo is only about 30,000.
The Maltese Islands are just 60 miles from Sicily, and 180 miles from the African continent.
Malta weather and climate are strongly influenced by the sea and have a very characteristic Mediterranean flavour, similar to that found in southern Italy or southern Greece. The climate is typically Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers, warm and sporadically wet autumns, and short, cool winters with adequate rainfall. Winters are mild with only rare occurrences of cold weather brought by north and northeast winds from central Europe. In fact, daytime winter temperatures never fall below 10ºC (50ºF), while night-time winter temperatures never fall below 0ºC (32ºF)
